Kyrgyz plant health authorities have rejected a 24.6-ton shipment of walnuts and macadamia nuts originating from China. The rejection occurred on June 10th at the Torugart border crossing. Officials from the Department of Chemicalization, Protection and Quarantine of Plants identified violations of quarantine and phytosanitary requirements. Specifically, the nuts lacked proper labeling and documentation necessary for import into Kyrgyzstan. The shipment was subsequently returned to China. This incident highlights the importance of adhering to import regulations for agricultural products. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Food Processing Industry oversaw the action.
