King Charles III has bestowed an honour upon David Sassoon, the designer who created many of Princess Diana’s iconic dresses. Sassoon, now 84, received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his services to fashion. The honour acknowledges Sassoon’s significant contribution to Diana’s style and public image during her time as a member of the royal family. Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, publicly expressed his pleasure and support for the recognition, stating Sassoon was a “magical designer” who understood his sister’s vision. Sassoon designed numerous outfits for Diana, including several worn during high-profile engagements and tours. The award is seen as a further acknowledgement of Diana’s enduring legacy and the individuals who contributed to her memorable presence.
