Eight women and youth groups in Kilifi County, Kenya, have received Sh12 million (approximately $80,000 USD) in equipment to bolster their participation in the blue economy. The funding, provided through the Regenerative Seascapes Project (ReSea), aims to improve livelihoods and enhance climate resilience within coastal communities. Distributed items include essential tools like laptops and refrigerators, alongside resources for beekeeping and food processing, such as beehives and kitchen appliances. The project also supports small business development with the provision of furniture. This initiative focuses on promoting sustainable use of coastal resources and empowering local groups. The ReSea Project seeks to balance economic growth with environmental conservation in the region. The equipment handover signifies a commitment to long-term sustainability and community empowerment in Kilifi County.
