Authorities in Khánh Hòa Province have launched a comprehensive investigation into two sand stockpiling sites operating within a residential area of Bảo An Ward. The order, issued by the provincial People’s Committee, aims to determine the origin of the sand and address potential violations related to land use, mineral extraction, and environmental regulations. Simultaneously, an investigation has been initiated into an incident involving the obstruction and physical assault of a journalist. Provincial leadership directed a thorough review of operations at the sites, seeking to clarify any irregularities. The investigation will focus on identifying and prosecuting those responsible for both the illegal sand mining and the attack on the press. This action follows concerns raised regarding the impact of the sand mining on the local community and the safety of journalists reporting on the issue.
