A project by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) has brought electricity to 83 households in the lower Kaplonyo area of Kilibwoni Ward, within the Emgwen Constituency in Kenya. The initiative, costing Sh5.7 million, represents progress in the country’s last-mile connectivity programme. This phase of the project specifically aims to connect 114 households in the region. The completed installations include the provision of electricity meters to the newly connected homes. This development will improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for residents of lower Kaplonyo. REREC’s efforts highlight a commitment to expanding electricity access throughout Kenya, particularly in rural areas. The project continues to move forward with the goal of full completion.
