A motion has been presented to the Kenyan National Assembly advocating for the permanent employment and pension benefits for Community Health Promoters (CHPs). Sponsored by Tharaka MP George Murugara, the proposal urges the national government to establish a clear policy framework for CHP recruitment, employment, and compensation nationwide. Currently, CHPs often work on short-term contracts with limited benefits, creating instability within the crucial primary healthcare workforce.
