Kenya and the United Kingdom have initiated a new program to bolster border security across East Africa. The Regional Counter-Smuggling Programme (RCSP) will focus on improving security at airports and dismantling networks involved in migrant smuggling. The initiative will directly benefit Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia through increased collaboration between their border management agencies. Implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and funded by the UK Home Office, the RCSP aims to address the complex challenges posed by transnational crime. Enhanced security measures will help protect vulnerable migrants and disrupt illicit activities in the region. This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to regional stability and secure borders. The program's success relies on continued cooperation and information sharing amongst the involved nations.
