Kenya has designated the Chavakali–Kapsabet–Eldoret Airport Road project as a key component of the Lake Victoria Basin Development Project. The initiative, a collaboration between the Kenyan government and the World Bank, aims to improve infrastructure and connectivity within the region. This was announced by officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) during a recent stakeholder meeting in Vihiga County. The road is expected to significantly enhance transport links to Eldoret International Airport and surrounding areas. The project’s prioritization underscores the government’s commitment to regional development and economic growth. Further details regarding the project’s timeline and specific implementation plans were discussed with local stakeholders. The development is anticipated to facilitate trade and access within the Lake Victoria Basin.
