Kenya’s electoral body, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), has initiated a national program to prepare for the 2027 General Election. The program centers on capacity building and aims to foster a more inclusive electoral process. A recent one-week sensitization program in Kitale concluded with training specifically for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This initiative signals a broader effort to engage diverse groups within Kenyan society. The ORPP intends to reach various segments of the population to ensure broad participation in the upcoming elections. The program’s focus is on equipping citizens with the knowledge and resources needed to actively participate in the democratic process. This move is intended to strengthen the integrity and representativeness of the 2027 elections.
