Kenya’s electricity transmission company, KETRACO, has successfully activated the 400kV Isinya–Konza Transmission Line and associated Konza Substation. This development aims to provide a reliable power supply to the Konza Technopolis, a planned technology hub. The project will also reinforce the national electricity grid, specifically benefiting the Lower Eastern region of Kenya. Funding for the transmission line and substation was provided by both the Kenyan government and the Export-Import Bank of China. The energized infrastructure is expected to support future economic growth and technological advancement in the area. KETRACO anticipates improved power stability and capacity as a direct result of this project completion. This represents a significant step in Kenya’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernize its power infrastructure.
