Health officials in Homa Bay County, Kenya, are utilizing mobile gaming to address a surge in HIV infections among adolescent boys, a demographic historically underserved by prevention efforts. A collaborative study involving Maseno University, the county government, and the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) is driving this innovative approach. The project leverages gaming to engage young men and deliver crucial HIV prevention information. Researchers identified a gap in existing programs, noting adolescent boys were not adequately reached. This digital intervention aims to fill that void and promote safer sexual health practices. The initiative represents a shift towards more targeted and technologically advanced public health strategies in the region.
