Peru's electoral office has released the final results of the presidential election. Right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori emerged as the winner over her left-wing opponent, Robert Sánchez. The margin of victory was narrow, with Fujimori leading by approximately 50,000 votes out of more than 19 million cast. While Fujimori stated she is awaiting the official declaration of the winner, the result remains contested. Sánchez has refused to recognize the outcome of the vote. He is currently calling for the annulment of ballots cast by citizens abroad.
