Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan emerged victorious in today’s zher ulak, also known as kokpar, competitions at the 6th World Nomad Games. The matches were held at Kok-Boru Arena in Cholpon-Ata on September 4th. Zher ulak is a traditional equestrian sport central to the nomadic heritage of Central Asia, involving skill, horsemanship, and teamwork. These wins mark successful performances for both nations in a key event of the Games. The World Nomad Games showcase a variety of traditional sports and cultural practices from nomadic civilizations.
