Karachi police, working with a federal intelligence agency, dismantled an international narcotics network following a raid on a Mehran Town warehouse. Eight suspects, including a doctor and a policeman of Afghan origin, were arrested during the operation. Authorities seized 50 kilograms of crystal meth valued at Rs900 million, part of a larger consignment estimated between 200-250kg worth $25 to $30 million. The network was allegedly smuggling drugs from Pakistan to Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, concealing them within shipments of tiles and marble. Investigations reveal the drugs originated in Balochistan’s Chaman region, were routed through Lahore via hawala, and had handlers in South Africa and Thailand. Nazir Soomro is identified as the key figure directing procurement and export, utilizing the warehouse managed by Shahid Mastoi.
