Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) has introduced a comprehensive Sh50 billion expansion plan. The initiative aims to transform the Kisumu-based facility into a 2,000-bed regional referral and teaching hospital. This strategic upgrade is designed to significantly enhance specialized healthcare services across western Kenya. A detailed feasibility study and master plan have already been presented to the hospital's Executive Committee. The project focuses on increasing capacity to meet the growing medical needs of the region. By expanding its infrastructure, JOOTRH seeks to improve patient outcomes and medical training. This ambitious blueprint represents a major investment in the region's public health infrastructure.
