A RM20 million (approximately $4.3 million USD) fund, known as Skills4Johor, has been allocated to enhance the skills of the Johor workforce. Human Resources Minister R. Ramanan announced the initiative, stating it aims to provide the talent needed to support the development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). The funding will be used to upskill and reskill workers, addressing the demands of emerging industries within the region. This investment seeks to align the workforce with the economic goals of the JS-SEZ, fostering growth and competitiveness. The program intends to create a pipeline of skilled labor to attract further investment and drive economic prosperity in Johor. Details regarding specific training programs and eligibility criteria are expected to be released shortly. The initiative represents a strategic move to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the JS-SEZ.
