The party leadership confirmed the validity of a 25-page affidavit submitted by Malik from Tihar Jail, asserting the details regarding the murder and the Pandit exodus are truthful. JKLF leaders rejected the allegations and claim Malik is being targeted for his political beliefs. They plan to escalate international campaigns demanding Malik’s release and appealing to global organizations for assistance. The JKLF fears for Malik's safety and alleges victimization by the Indian government.
