A 48-year-old man received a warning from Japanese police after leaving his seven-year-old son alone on Mount Fuji while continuing his climb. The incident occurred on a foggy, rainy day at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, where the boy was found sitting alone with snacks and drinks. The father, fatigued, left his younger son at the sixth station while he and an older son continued toward the summit. Rescue workers cared for the boy for approximately eight hours until the father returned. Police stated that abandoning a child, even with the intention of reaching the summit, is unacceptable. Mount Fuji has seen an increase in incidents and accidents in recent years, highlighting concerns about safety during climbs and overcrowding, leading authorities to implement restrictions in some areas.
