Japan is tackling record-breaking heatwaves with an innovative solution: a wearable “human refrigerator.” This personal cooling system, resembling a lightweight exoskeleton, utilizes fans and ice packs to regulate body temperature. Developed as a preventative measure against heatstroke, the device aims to provide relief for outdoor workers and individuals susceptible to heat exhaustion. The "kulkas manusia" (human refrigerator) focuses on cooling the core body temperature, offering a more efficient cooling effect than traditional methods. Prototypes are currently being tested, with developers hoping to refine the design for mass production and wider accessibility.
