Students of Jagannath University (জবি) demonstrated on Saturday night, October 10th, protesting the cancellation of a recruitment exam by the Youth Development Department. The protest, organized by the Jagannath University Central Students’ Parliament (জকসু), took place on the university’s peaceful campus (শান্ত চত্বর) at 9 PM. Students demanded a fair resolution to the concerns of job seekers affected by the cancelled exam. JkSU Education and Research Secretary Ibrahim Khalil stated the protest was linked to broader movements and resistance against authoritarian rule. The demonstration included a protest rally and march. Students are calling for their legitimate demands to be met regarding the recruitment process. The cancellation has sparked significant unrest among aspiring candidates.
