The Italian region of Abruzzo is increasing its support for agricultural recovery in Ethiopia’s Tigray region. This initiative focuses on assisting former combatants in reintegrating into civilian life through farming. The project aims to provide sustainable livelihoods and contribute to the overall stabilization of the region following recent conflict. Details regarding the specific financial investment and implementation strategies were announced in Maputo on June 24th by AIM. The program will prioritize agricultural rehabilitation, offering training and resources to ex-combatants to establish or resume farming activities. This support is intended to reduce reliance on potential recruitment into armed groups and foster economic independence. The initiative represents a collaborative effort to address the socio-economic challenges stemming from the conflict in Tigray.
