Israel has agreed to allow a multinational security force into Gaza, as outlined in former US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal. The Israeli security cabinet approved the legal framework for the force’s entry, comprised of approximately 200 members from countries like Uganda and Morocco. This “International Stabilisation Force” (ISF) will operate in areas not under Israeli control, with each contingent needing specific Israeli approval for deployment. The decision comes ahead of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump in Washington to discuss the stalled peace plan. Trump’s plan envisions increased aid, civilian administration, Hamas disarmament, and Israeli withdrawal, but implementation has faced obstacles, including Hamas' refusal to disarm. Currently, Israel controls an estimated 64% of Gaza, where conditions remain dire for the 2 million residents.
