Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has appointed Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim as his military secretary. Ibrahim currently serves as the head of the Civil Administration in the West Bank. This appointment marks a historic first, as Ibrahim is the first Druze officer to hold the position of military secretary to the Defense Minister. Prior to this role, Ibrahim held several prominent command positions within the Israel Defense Forces, including Chief Armor Officer and commander of the 460th and 205th Brigades. The decision has been noted for its significance in representation within the Israeli military. Ibrahim’s extensive experience is expected to be valuable in his new advisory role to Minister Katz.
