A senior Israeli cybersecurity official reports a significant surge in Iranian cyberattacks targeting Israel. Yossi Karadi, Director General of Israel's National Cyber Directorate, stated that incidents rose dramatically following joint U.S.-Israeli military operations against Iran. In June 2025, approximately 1,600 hostile cyber incidents were recorded. However, during the same month in 2026, that number jumped to around 4,800 incidents—a threefold increase. Karadi disclosed this information in an interview with German newspaper Die Welt. The increase suggests a retaliatory response from Iran, utilizing cyber warfare as a key component of its counter-strategy. This escalation raises concerns about the potential for further cyber conflict in the region.
