Iran has stated it will not permit the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect nuclear facilities reportedly damaged in prior attacks by the United States and Israel. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei dismissed claims of potential inspections as untrue. He specifically denied any meetings took place between Iranian officials and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi regarding such access. Baqaei further clarified that no framework for IAEA inspections of the affected sites has been established. This decision follows reported attacks on Iranian nuclear infrastructure last year. The move raises concerns about transparency and verification of Iran’s nuclear program. It potentially complicates ongoing international efforts regarding nuclear safeguards.
