Iranian police report a secure Arbaeen pilgrimage so far, with no reported security incidents along routes or at border crossings. Over 2.65 million Iranian pilgrims have travelled to Iraq for the annual Shia Muslim religious observance. Simultaneously, more than one million pilgrims have safely returned to Iran. This security is attributed to close coordination between Iranian and Iraqi border police forces. The Arbaeen pilgrimage is one of the largest annual gatherings in the world, drawing millions of devotees to the Iraqi city of Karbala. Authorities on both sides of the border are working to ensure the safety and smooth passage of pilgrims during this significant religious event. The continued success of these security measures highlights the ongoing cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
