Iran’s national airline, Homa, has completed the initial stage of returning Iranian pilgrims from the annual Hajj pilgrimage. As of June 13th, a total of 27,810 pilgrims have been flown back to Iran on 234 dedicated flights. The operation is ongoing, facilitating the return of Iranian citizens who participated in the religious journey to Mecca and Medina. Homa is coordinating the repatriation efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient process for the returning pilgrims. This initial phase signifies a significant logistical undertaking by the airline and Iranian authorities. Further flights are expected to continue bringing pilgrims home in the coming days. The successful completion of this phase marks a key step in concluding Iran’s participation in this year’s Hajj.
