Mongolia’s Educational Evaluation Center (EEC) has received approximately 6,000 requests this year from students seeking to have their international exam scores recognized as equivalent to national university entrance exam results. Initially, such requests predominantly came from students attending private schools, but a recent trend shows a significant increase in applications from students in public schools following the national curriculum. Education Ministry official L.Ganbat noted this shift indicates students in public schools are achieving high scores on international exams through self-study and supplemental learning. Students can request equivalence for scores from exams including Cambridge AS/A Level, IB, TOEFL/IBT, PTE, and SAT. The increasing demand suggests a growing accessibility and perceived value of international qualifications within the Mongolian education system. This system allows wider access to higher education based on internationally recognized achievements. The EEC processes these requests electronically and renders decisions on a case-by-case basis.
