An injured Royal Bengal tiger, caught in a deer poacher’s snare in the Chandpai range of the Sundarbans, has fully recovered after five and a half months of treatment. The tiger was found near the Sharkir canal area. Officials from the Khulna Divisional Forest Office confirmed the animal’s health has been restored at the Khulna Rescue Centre. Preparations are underway to reintroduce the tiger back into its natural habitat in the Sundarbans in July. Prior to release, a satellite collar will be fitted to the tiger for monitoring purposes. This effort highlights ongoing conservation work within the Sundarbans mangrove forest.
