Indonesia’s Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, has announced an expansion of the crackdown on over-dimension and over-loading (ODOL) vehicles, now including areas within ports across the country. This intensified, integrated supervision aims to improve safety standards. The move signifies a heightened commitment to addressing the dangers posed by ODOL vehicles. Authorities will now focus on enforcing regulations at points of embarkation and disembarkation in locations such as Jakarta’s ports. This expansion intends to prevent potentially hazardous vehicles from continuing their journeys. The Ministry hopes to reduce accidents and infrastructure damage caused by vehicles exceeding legal weight and size limits. The increased oversight aims to create a safer transportation environment throughout Indonesia.
