The practice of *halal bihalal* – gatherings to seek forgiveness and strengthen relationships – is a deeply ingrained cultural tradition for Indonesian Muslims before and after completing the Hajj pilgrimage. Anis Diyah Puspita, Head of Pilgrimage Guidance at the Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee (PPIH) for the Airport Sector, highlighted the significance of this custom. These gatherings serve as a means for pilgrims to reconnect with family and communities upon their return, and to mend any strained relationships. The tradition demonstrates the importance of social harmony and spiritual renewal within Indonesian society. *Halal bihalal* events are a common sight at airports and in villages as pilgrims return from Mecca. This practice underscores the cultural dimension accompanying religious observance in Indonesia.
