Indonesian hydropower company PT Tamaris Hidro aims to raise up to IDR 1 trillion (approximately $63 million USD) through the first phase of its ongoing Sukuk Ijarah bond offering. The funds will be utilized to strengthen the company’s capital structure and bolster the development of national renewable energy sources. Sukuk Ijarah are Sharia-compliant bonds based on asset leasing. This offering represents the first stage of a continuous bond program. Tamaris Hidro’s initiative aligns with Indonesia’s broader push towards increasing its renewable energy capacity. The company intends to use the capital to finance projects within the renewable energy sector, contributing to national energy goals. The bond issuance is expected to attract investors interested in socially responsible and sustainable investments.
