Indonesia’s MPR Speaker, Ahmad Muzani, is advocating for direct flights between Indonesia and Uzbekistan to bolster economic and diplomatic connections. Muzani believes increased connectivity will facilitate greater trade, investment, and cultural exchange between the two nations. He discussed this initiative during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Ulugbek Maripov. The proposal aims to reduce travel times and costs, encouraging more frequent interactions. Both parties expressed optimism regarding the potential benefits of direct air links. This move aligns with Indonesia’s broader strategy to strengthen relationships with Central Asian countries, fostering regional cooperation and economic growth. Further discussions are planned to assess the feasibility and implementation of the direct flight route.
