Indonesian lawmaker Nurul Arifin has voiced support for the National Digital Literacy and Information Commission’s (Komdigi) efforts to encourage Electronic System Organizers (PSEs) to conduct self-assessments. As of recently, 64 PSEs have reported to Komdigi, demonstrating initial compliance with new regulations. Arifin expressed hope that this number will continue to rise as the government pushes for broader adherence. The push for self-assessment is part of a wider effort to enforce new data protection and digital sovereignty rules on tech companies operating in Indonesia. These regulations aim to safeguard user data and ensure responsible digital practices. Komdigi’s ongoing initiative seeks to facilitate a smooth transition for PSEs while upholding national interests in the digital sphere. Further compliance is expected in the coming weeks as deadlines approach.
