The Indonesian government, through Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya and in collaboration with Indonesia Facilitator (InFast), is actively promoting the use of blockchain technology to expand financing options for the country's creative industries. This initiative aims to address existing challenges faced by creators in accessing traditional financial systems. The government believes blockchain can offer more transparent and efficient funding mechanisms, particularly for small and medium-sized creative enterprises. Efforts focus on exploring decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to unlock new revenue streams for Indonesian artists and innovators. A recent workshop in Jakarta brought together stakeholders to discuss the potential benefits and practical applications of blockchain within the creative ecosystem. The goal is to position Indonesia as a leading hub for blockchain-based creative financing in Southeast Asia and beyond. Ultimately, this strategy seeks to empower Indonesian creators and drive economic growth within the creative sector.
