Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment is directing social assistance programs towards vulnerable communities in the “3T” areas – regions considered underdeveloped, outermost, and disadvantaged. The ministry stressed the need for precise targeting to ensure aid reaches those most in need, particularly focusing on poverty alleviation. This includes prioritizing distribution in areas with limited infrastructure and access to basic services. Minister Ad interim Koordinator for Human Development and Culture, Luat Sihombing, highlighted the importance of data accuracy and collaboration between central and local governments for effective implementation. The initiative aims to reduce inequality and accelerate development in these historically marginalized regions. Monitoring and evaluation will be crucial to assess program impact and make necessary adjustments. This targeted approach seeks to maximize the benefit of social assistance for the country’s most vulnerable populations.
