Indonesia has not yet begun discussions regarding an offer of assistance from Malaysia to combat the ongoing forest and land fires. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Wiranto, stated the issue hasn’t been addressed due to current priorities. He indicated that Indonesia is currently focused on handling the fires independently, utilizing its own resources and cloud seeding technology. Wiranto mentioned receiving the offer from Malaysia but emphasized that a formal discussion hasn't taken place. He also noted Indonesia’s commitment to transparency and would inform the public once discussions commence. The delay in addressing the offer raises questions about the extent of Indonesia’s current capabilities in managing the widespread blazes and the potential for regional cooperation. The fires have caused significant haze pollution impacting Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
