Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) will conduct an Economic Census in 2026 to comprehensively assess the contribution of various economic sectors in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY). The census aims to provide a more detailed understanding of the economic role played by different industries within DIY. Specifically, BPS officials state the census will be capable of measuring the economic contribution of the education sector in the region. This data will offer a clearer picture of the financial impact of educational institutions and activities. The 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) is intended to be a thorough assessment of the regional economy. The findings are expected to inform future economic planning and policy decisions in DIY.
