India is investigating a significant data breach at Tata Electronics, a key Apple supplier, after sensitive information regarding the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro was posted on the dark web. The stolen data includes component lists, supplier details, and images of the upcoming iPhone models. A ransomware group claimed responsibility for the breach, which also reportedly included documents from Tesla, Qualcomm, and TSMC. Indian authorities have been alerted, with the Computer Emergency Response Team leading the investigation. This leak poses a threat to Apple’s closely guarded supply chain and confidential business practices. Tata Electronics has engaged a global consultant to conduct a forensic audit to assess the extent of the damage and prevent future incidents. Apple plans to release the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September.
