Northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state is reeling from devastating floods following three days of intense rainfall, resulting in at least 62 deaths as of Monday. The state government reports 46 injuries and over 1,000 homes damaged across multiple districts due to the heavy downpour. Schools in several areas, including the state capital Lucknow, have been temporarily shut down due to the dangerous conditions. Combined with flooding in Nepal, the total death toll has reached at least 83. Authorities are currently focused on rescue and relief efforts for those affected by the widespread damage. The situation remains critical as rainfall continues in the region, raising concerns of further devastation.
