The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) will provide legal assistance to voters in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ahead of the September 14th parliamentary elections. The IBP plans to mobilize volunteer lawyers to educate citizens about their rights throughout the electoral process. This initiative stems from a recently signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the IBP and the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The help desks will aim to clarify voter concerns and ensure a smooth and informed election experience. This support is particularly crucial for the first parliamentary elections in the BARMM region. The IBP’s involvement underscores a commitment to upholding democratic processes and voter empowerment. These efforts will support fair and accessible elections for all eligible voters in BARMM.
