A young Hungarian boy with Down syndrome, Artúr Hegedűs, will embark on a 700-kilometer (approximately 435-mile) run, known as the Tour Horizont, alongside his father, Kornél Hegedűs. The pair plan to complete the race within six days. Kornél Hegedűs expressed some uncertainty about Artúr’s ability to endure the full distance, but remains optimistic based on their previous, shorter treks. The Tour Horizont is a challenging endurance event, and this undertaking represents a significant feat for both father and son. This run aims to demonstrate inclusivity and the capabilities of individuals with Down syndrome. The father believes Artúr is well-prepared, drawing confidence from their past experiences with longer distance walks.
