Hong Kong is introducing a new initiative allowing participating restaurants to welcome dogs indoors starting in mid-July. The scheme has seen an overwhelming response from the local business community. Authorities received 2,205 applications for a limited pool of only 1,000 available permits. This high demand indicates a strong interest among restaurateurs to cater to pet owners. The initiative aims to modernize dining experiences by integrating pet-friendly policies. Once approved, these establishments will be officially authorized to host canine guests. The government will now determine which applicants will receive the limited permits.
