The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) has partnered with Jeanologia and Looptworks through a new Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration aims to establish a scalable “Green Machine Circular Textile Ecosystem,” focusing on advanced textile recycling technologies. The initiative seeks to address the growing problem of textile waste by creating a closed-loop system. Jeanologia will contribute its expertise in sustainable textile processing, while Looptworks will focus on transforming textile waste into new products. HKRITA anticipates this partnership will represent a significant breakthrough in making large-scale textile recycling commercially viable. The agreement was officially signed on June 25, 2026, signaling a commitment to a more sustainable future for the fashion and apparel industry.
