Remains of 18th and 19th-century members of the von Hochberg family, former owners of the famed Książ Castle, have been discovered in a family crypt. The discovery occurred within the von Kramsta family tomb located at the communal cemetery in Świebodzice, Poland. Archaeologists uncovered a total of 25 coffins and sarcophagi containing the remains. The von Hochberg family held significant influence in the region, particularly through their ownership of the castle. This finding offers new insights into the history of the aristocratic family and their connection to Książ Castle. Further research and analysis of the remains are anticipated to reveal more about the Hochberg lineage and their lives. The discovery is considered a significant archaeological event for the Wałbrzych region.
