The Croatian electric utility company HEP is finalizing the construction of two solar power plants in the Primorsko-Goranska County. These projects include the Unije solar plant, which is designed to cover the island's total annual electricity needs. Additionally, the Cres solar plant is nearing completion. Following these developments, HEP plans to construct a third facility, the Ustrine solar plant, located near Osora on the island of Cres. Together, these initiatives aim to enhance energy autonomy and sustainability in the region. The expansion reflects a strategic move toward renewable energy sources on the Kvarner islands.
