A severe heatwave currently impacting Western and Central Europe is extending into Romania. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecasts temperatures will surpass heatwave thresholds by the end of the week. Florinela Georgescu, ANM’s forecasting director, announced the impending rise in temperatures on Wednesday morning. Yellow heatwave alerts have been issued for much of the country, currently in effect until Thursday. Temperatures are expected to increase incrementally each day. The alerts signal potentially dangerous conditions due to the extreme heat.
