Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) announced the Hanul Unit 5 nuclear reactor has resumed operations at 100% power capacity. The reactor, a 1 million kW pressurized water reactor, underwent planned preventative maintenance beginning February 26th. The maintenance period involved routine inspections and component checks to ensure operational safety and efficiency. KHNP confirmed the completion of all scheduled work and a successful restart of the unit. This restoration of full power contributes to South Korea’s overall energy supply. The Hanul Nuclear Power Plant is located in Uljin, South Korea. Officials stated the reactor is operating within all safety parameters.
