Gyeonggi Province is significantly expanding its local tax delinquency management unit, commonly referred to as a debt collection unit, from 13 cities and counties to 31 across the province. This expansion aims to improve tax collection rates and conduct thorough investigations into outstanding tax debts. The province will hire 576 individuals to fill positions within these expanded units. The initiative, building on a successful pilot program, seeks to proactively encourage taxpayers to settle their debts and ensure fair tax compliance. This increased manpower will allow for more comprehensive field investigations and targeted outreach to delinquent taxpayers. The province anticipates improved revenue collection and a more equitable tax system as a result of this broadened program. The expansion represents a substantial investment in local tax enforcement efforts.
