A Guatemalan congressman has filed a formal complaint against prosecutor Rafael Curruchiche, alleging dereliction of duty. The complaint centers on perceived delays in the investigation surrounding the Sputnik V vaccine procurement case. Congressman José Chic formally presented the denunciation to the Public Ministry (MP). The accusation claims Curruchiche repeatedly failed to adequately pursue the investigation. This adds another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Sputnik V vaccine deal in Guatemala. The case has drawn scrutiny over potential irregularities in the vaccine acquisition process and alleged corruption. Curruchiche has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
